EA has released a new trailer for its upcoming Visceral Montreal-developed game, Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel. The trailer, aptly titled "Overkill," shows a ton of explosions from the Frostbite 2-powered game.
While explosions and shootings are the norm whenever a new trailer for the game is released, there are two surprise reveals: first, we get to see possibly one of the game's main baddies. He wasn't named, but I assume that badass with a machete walking straight to Alpha and Bravo is not your typical grunt. For one thing he managed to escape a grenade thrown at him by kicking it in his goons' direction.
Another reveal is the introduction of an unnamed female comrade for the duo. She helps them fight it out, and seeing as she has dialogue, I assume she won't be your typical ally that gets blown to bits in mere seconds of being introduced.
Granted, what they've shown so far seems like your typical popcorn action game affair, but if there's a studio that can make this more than just a "dudebro" affair, its Visceral. They did developed the awesome Dead Space franchise, right?
With Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel releasing in March 26, 2013, the game needs to be extraordinary to carve its own path in the crowded month. Do you think it will succeed or will it be lost among God of War: Ascension, Tomb Raider and BioShock Infinite?
