Crysis 3 Expresses Pure Violence With The Typhoon

January 16, 2013 by Ian Miles Cheong

Witness the raw power of Crysis 3’s newest weapon, the Typhoon.

A new trailer from Crytek and EA showcases the game’s newest weapon, the Typhoon. It’s the product of over two thousand years of human warfare, and it’s designed for one purpose and one purpose only—to kill the Ceph.

The Typhoon is a heavy machine gun with ten barrels that fire over 500 rounds a second. It has the effect of literally shredding anything in its line of fire.

The trailer, which was developed as a part of the “Seven Wonders of Crysis 3” series by Albert Hughes showcases this lethal weapon as Prophet, the game’s protagonist, rains leaded death upon an entire pack of Ceph with the gun. Prophet is also equipped with an incendiary device, which he uses to quickly dispatch his remaining foes before picking up the Typhoon for another round of death and destruction.

“It’s the purest form of expression. And right now—I’ve got a lot to say.”

Crysis 3 is out on February 19th for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, where it’s currently available as a preorder on EA’s Origin service. The game offers full support for the PC, with DirectX 11 features and a variety of other PC-exclusive options.
