If you want to play Mercury Steam's excellent follow-up to Lords of Shadow, the appropriately titled Lords of Shadows 2, you'll need to own either an Xbox 360 or PS3; as the title has "no chance" of being ported over to the Wii U.
Just the other day, Lords of Shadow producer Dave Cox was asked on Twitter by a fan if "Will the Wii U get some LOS2 love? Sadly for Wii U owners, Cox's reply was a short, "Sorry to disappoint you but no chance," that shot down any chance of the Gabriel's second adventure appearing on Nintendo's next-gen console.
What's interesting here is that Lords of Shadow's other game in the series lineage — Mirror of Fate — will be a 3DS exclusive. Maybe Mercury Steam doesn't have the resources to work on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions once you factor in the Wii U port? It's either that, or it might be in the same boat as Crysis 3, which EA thinks is a "bad" business decision.
So, there you have it. If you want to play Lords of Shadow 2, better have a PS3 or Xbox 360. Sorry, PC gamers, Mercury Steam has not commented whether LOS2 will ever see the light of day on that platform.
For more info on Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, watch the VGA trailer to see how badass Gabriel has become…in a rather evil way.
Anyone surprised by this or should we not expect ports to happen for the Wii U at all? Come to think of it, are there even any Lords of Shadow 2 fan that wants to play the game on the Wii U?
