Even if no new Killzone game was released in 2012, Guerilla Games still had a lot on their plate this year. They released Killzone 3's multiplayer as a standalone title on the PSN, they announced Killzone: Mercenary for the PS Vita in August, the Killzone Trilogy was released in October and in doing that, released Killzone HD — a high-def remaster of the game that started it all.
However, it seems the studio will have an even bigger 2013. In a holiday message post over on the official U.S. PlayStation Blog, the studio ended their message with a little tease that 2013 could quite possibly be their biggest year since the release of Killzone 1 back in 2004.
You can check the exact message below.
2013 is gearing up to be another big year for Guerrilla – quite possibly the biggest since we released the original Killzone way back in 2004. We’ll have more details for you at a future date, but until then we hope you share a wonderful holiday with your loved ones, and we’ll see you in 2013.
Seeing as they said they'll have "more details at a future date," I'm guessing this means E3? If so, could this be for Killzone 4 or maybe a new IP? Regardless of title, we can't even say for certain if this is for the PS3 or for Sony's PS4.
If I had to wager a guess, I'd say it's a new IP reveal in E3 for the PS4. Come to think of it, would you want Killzone 4 or should Guerilla work on a new IP? If so, what platform do you think this will be on the PS3 or PS4? Speculate away in the comments.
Thanks, NeoGAF
