Curious to try out Raiden's first solo game but you don't want to shell out the money for the Zone of the Enders HD Collection? Well, now you can — if you live in Japan, that is.
Oddly, Konami has released a region locked PS3 demo of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. So for those in the EU, Asia or U.S. territories, you're out of luck; and don't even think of using your Japanese PSN account, as it won't work, too.
Unless I'm mistaken, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is the first demo region locked for the PS3 and to be honest, seeing as this is a high-profile release, this move by Konami has befuddled me somewhat. I mean, don't they want the most players to be able to experience the game?
For those curious, there's no Xbox 360 demo as well. But this isn't that surprising since Konami has cancelled the Xbox 360 version of Metal Gear Rising in Japan. I gather the three people who actually own Xbox 360s in Japan are feeling the burn now.
Could Konami be readying a demo for all territories soon but opted to give Japan a first crack at it? Quite possibly so. In the meantime, nurse those demo-snubbing burns by watching Raiden take on a Mastiff in Revengeance's latest trailer.
Why do you think Konami chose to region lock Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance's demo? Could it be due to the game's quality or do they just want their honeland audiences to get first crack at it?
