Fans of military RTS games, listen up: WW2 themed strategy-fest Blitzkrieg 3 is going free to play from July 20 to July 24. It’s a long weekend to get knee deep in three different historical campaigns and put your strategy skills to the test.
There’s also a PvE mission with the game’s Neural Network AI as part of the new Dunkirk Operation—a first for Blitzkrieg 3. The very futuristic sounding Neural Network AI (also referred to by its human name, Boris) is certainly one of Blitzkrieg 3’s more unusual components. As developer Nival explains, Boris is like a bot that’s so smooth, you’d never know it wasn’t another player. Boris doesn’t come with any unfair advantages, but uses unpredictable techniques and is designed to keep players on their toes.
Blitzkrieg 3 is out now on Steam (Windows, Mac) where it’s normally priced at $29.99 USD. A recent patch introduced a ranked system into the game and ironed out some bugs.
