In the second video in Sony Santa Monica's "The Desert of Lost Souls" video series for God of War: Ascension, it now focuses on how the franchise's first-ever foray into multiplayer is made.
The studio uses the Polyphemus multiplayer level that's been shown in previous trailers to detail how the combat is designed to work with the giant cyclop in the background. Speaking of Polyphemus, the video does a great job of detailing the hardships the studio encountered in trying to show as much epic scenes as possible, while trying to make sure the gameplay is not hampered in anyway.
Can Sony's God of War frannchise thrive in the competitive multiplayer scene dominated by shooters? We'll know for sure once God of War: Ascension ships in March of 2013. In the meantime, for those who want to try the multplayer out. register at the official site to get a chance to try the multiplayer beta a week early.
Any takers or should some franchises stay true to its roots and focus on its single-player narrative instead?
