For those who haven't heard, the Xbox 360 did very well this past Black Friday. 750,000 consoles were sold, which is not half bad, given how long in the tooth the hardware is becoming. Anyhow, it also means that there's now close to a million new potential Xbox LIVE users out there, something Microsoft clearly knows.
So if you're one of those people, who are still unsure what the service is all about, this weekend is your chance to give it a go. Major Nelson has just announced that as of this moment, and running till Sunday December 2nd, LIVE will totally free.
The offer applies to any and all Xbox 360 users in (and in alphabetical order): Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan and the United States.
Sorry people living in Europe; you are not invited to join in on the fun, for free. Actually, that part of the world had a free weekend all to themselves, not too long ago.
According to Larry Hryb, aka the Major himself:
"All Xbox owners in these regions, regardless of their current subscription, will have access to online multiplayer gaming, (like Halo 4 Spartan Op) Internet Explorer, Video Kinect and our entire catalog of entertainment apps, during that time period."
