Critical Studios has been developing DungeonLand for the past 2 years and it is now opening its doors for Beta Access. DungeonLand is being published by Paradox Interactive – makers of Mount & Blade and Hearts of Iron – and is set to be released in the first quarter of 2013 for Mac and PC.
So, DungeonLand is a cooperative action game (think Diablo) that takes place in a fantasy-themed amusement park built thanks to a loan from the Evil Overlord Foundation. There are 3 classes in this game, Rogue, Warrior, and Mage and they must make their way through the park and up the tower of the Dungeon Master to stop him from …whatever it is evil would do if it won. I think the testimonial from Sauron in the trailer sums up just how powerful Dungeon Master is.
DungeonLand is unique due to its roguelike AI system that will randomize monsters, treasures, and traps. Players can also assume the role of the Dungeon Master himself though it is unclear what this would really entail.
Interested players can certainly sign up for beta access by going to DungeonLand's homepage at: http://beta.dungeonlandgame.com/
