BioWare Mythic is becoming Mythic once again. The reason? All the company had to offer was that this change comes as the studio gains “a new focus”. This does not affect existing projects however and Mythic says they promise everything else will stay the same. Their website is also now Mythic Entertainment again.
Some of you may remember that EA changed the name of the studio back in 2009, which was around the time of Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect 2—or in other words while BioWare was at its peak popularity-wise.
So why change the name now? Might it be because of recent fan backlash to BioWare’s latest games, or simply because they are no longer headed in a similar direction? You’ll have to decide that one for yourself.
Mythic is currently focused on “leading the change into the core RPG market” and putting “strong IPs on mobile in new and exciting ways.” They are currently working on Ultima Forever and Warhammer: Wrath of Heroes.
