Following on from the Luke & Leia trailer that showed us how Angry Birds Star Wars will actually be played, we can now get a glimpse of some of the other characters, and a bit more gameplay. The R2-D2 & C-3PO trailer features two “birds” with shiny metallic skin that do manage to look an awful lot like the droids we're looking for, with those familiar bleeps and bloops to assure us if we weren't convinced.
Where the Luke & Leia trailer showed us levels down on the ground, with Luke swinging his lightsaber at some Empire-loving pigs and Leia taking down an AT-AT, this one shows that the development team are using what they learned with Angry Birds Space. R2-D2 and C-3PO will be doing what they do best, messing with the enemy's spaceships. Aside from the extra weapons that will presumably change for each character, the method of play seems very similar to the previous Angry Birds games, so it'll be the characters and environments that sell this one.
Angry Birds Star Wars comes out in a week, on November 8th. Given Disney's recent purchase of Lucasfilm, and the ensuing refreshment of Star Wars mania, there couldn't have been a better time for it.
