Do you want more Sleeping Dogs in the future? Not just DLCs but sequels, too? If so, we have some good news for you; though nothing's set in stone just yet.
In an interview with Official PlayStation Magazine, Sleeping Dogs producer Dan Sochan states that Square Enix believed in Sleeping Dogs as a "potential franchise;" though they're still gauging fan interest from the upcoming DLCs to evaluate the game's future.
They believed in this game as a potential franchise from the very beginning…I can’t really comment on a sequel right now. Our main focus is on putting out quality DLC so people see value and continue to want to show interest in the franchise. Then we can evaluate and look at it at that point.
Speaking of DLC, Sochan reveals that they have six-months of DLC planned for Sleeping Dogs. Now before you cry how United Front Games are money-grubbing people, Sochan also comments that work on DLC only started once the game was "done and shipped out the door."
Since Sleeping Dogs fared well both commercially and critically, I think there's a very good chance that we will eventually see Sleeping Dogs 2. I mean, this is even without Sochan's statements to go by.
Would you want Sleeping Dogs 2 or should Square Enix work on another sandbox game?
Sleeping Dogs' latest DLC, Nightmare on North Point, is scheduled for release on the Xbox LIVE, PSN and PC on Halloween.
