The latest issue of Game Informer has numerous new details concerning both Assassin’s Creed 3 and Assassin’s Creed Liberation, which was compiled by a denizen of NeoGAF, and later listed by Daily Video Game Deals. And, boy, there is a lot to sift through.
Let's start with Assassin’s Creed 3. The first highlight is how Connor lives near Davenport, New York, in a house owned by his mentor, Achilles. Turns out, he's an old killer who arrived well before the formation of the new world and has been established as the Mentor of the brotherhood in the Colonial America.
Connor's home base sounds a lot like the Batcave; there's apparently a secret basement that is accessed by pulling a level that’s disguised as a candlestick. It’s where weapons and equipment is stashed, along with mementos from various missions, either primary or secondary.
There are secret locales all over the place, with the most extensive being a system of tunnels that connects New York and Boston, and which were created by the Freemasons. These hidden/additional routes can only be accessed by solving puzzles.
The naval portion of AC3 is also defined in great detail; there are three aspects, each with their own objectives. The first concerns the famous naval officer Nicholas Biddle, who is also a Templar as it turns out. The second involves piracy; Connor must attack other ships and obtain ownership of trade routes. The third is semi-related and focused on a secret treasure, which was hidden by the famous pirate Captain Kidd, that Connor can try and track down.
There will be plenty to do, aside from being the primary task of being a lethal assassin. Other activities include hunting animals for specific purposes, delievering messages to various characters, and being the messenger in certain instances. The economy is also detailed at length, which places an emphasis on trade. Not only will Connor be producing various goods, but must also be mindful of protecting them as well.
Seems like a lot of hard work, but at least there are chances to unwind, in the form of various tabletop games that are played among various AI-controlled characters that one encounters throughout. There's also clubs to join, which not only aids in stat building and resource gathering, but also has you swapping stories with other members, mostly tall tales involved sea monsters and even UFOs.
Details pertaining to Assassin’s Creed Liberation is not as extensive, but there are some interesting tidbits nonetheless. Including something called the People System; Aveline has three different costumes to choose from, which not only changes her appearance, but has a direct affect on attributes as well.
There's the assassin garb of course, but you also have attire that makes her a member of the upper class, and with it comes the ability to seduce and bribe officials. There's also a maid outfit that allows her to pass by unnoticed by officials and also directly interact with denizens, to help inspire rebellion among the masses.
But when it comes to the primary task at hand, that being killing people, there's apparently a special murder that will freeze time and allows one to create a pick and choose one's opponents, which will result in a particularly spectacular showing of violence.
