A fan of the Grand Theft Auto series named "Anerchx" failed to contain his enthusiasm, and sent a poorly written letter off to Rockstar Support to ask about GTA V's release date
He wrote:
"In february you said that you will start talking about gta v in a few months and its been 4 months and nothing. i thought you will release info at e3 because when i hear a few months i think 3-4 months."
He goes on to provide an explanation of how "a couple" refers to two months, and how "a few" definitely means "3 or 4". "Several," apparently refers to "5," which is just one short of a "a haLF dozen" (SIC).
To my surprise, he received an official response from Rockstar Support, which told him that they are unable to provide him with any information regarding the game's release date, but added that games like GTA V can take little over 4 years to develop. Given the budget and scope of AAA titles, this should come as no surprise to anyone—except for pal Anerchx, who wrote with a tone of sadness in his writing on GTAForums that he expects the game to come out in 2015-2016, because he's under the impression that development of GTA V only began in 2011, when the trailer was released.
I have no words.
