Former developers from Criterion, the studio behind numerous games including Burnout, formed a new studio called Three Field Games in 2014. The studio announced details about one of its upcoming games.
Three Fields Entertainment is currently developing multiple projects, one of which is a spiritual successor to Burnout. The other, hinted at today, is said to cater to fans of both Burnout and Black. Black was a first-person shooter for the PS2 developed by Criterion and is widely regarded as one of the best shooters on the platform.
"If you liked #Burnout and you liked #BLACK then you might just like this first game we've made at @3FieldsEnt," wrote studio chief Alex Ward.
Ward then said that the game will feature neither guns or cars, raising many questions as to what they actually have in store.
"This game has no cars and no guns," said Ward.
The studio updated its website, describing the upcoming title as a twist on a sports game that's "fast, funny, and heavy on social multiplayer."
Expect more details as they become available.
