This is a rundown of the confirmed and potential Legends coming to WWE 2K15.
We know that there will be three versions of Hulk Hogan playable in the game. There will be the ‘80s version of Hogan in his prime, nWo’s Hollywood Hulk Hogan, and modern day Hogan. Jimmy Hart has also been confirmed as a manager, and is a shoe-in to join ‘80s Hogan.
Sting is also famously included as a pre-order bonus. Fans will be able to play both his ‘80s Road Warrior-inspired ‘The Franchise’ persona, as well as his mid-‘90s The Crow-inspired persona, which he has used until today.
Also confirmed are Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, HHH, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, Booker T, and Kevin Nash.
The following is a list of potential wrestlers who can be included as Legends for the game. These wrestlers have still not been scanned for recent WWE games, and they are still alive and well enough to be scanned:
· Roddy Rowdy Piper
The Rowdy One had a tremendous run in the ‘80s, and can boast of his own claim to mainstream fame as well, as the lead in 1988 scifi satire They Live. He is most famous as a foil to Hogan but was also a huge draw as a fan favorite. As of right now, he is not signed with the WWE, but funnily enough, parodied his They Live role in an appearance in Saints Row IV.
· Big Van Vader
Leon White saw his best years in the ‘80s as WCW World Champion and rival to Sting. He continued wrestling all throughout the ‘90s and retired in the mid’00s, but his initial run made him memorable to many NWA and WCW fans. He was an unlockable inWWE ’13 but skipped out on2K14.
· Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart
The Excellence of Execution is a legendary figure in and out of the squared circle, though under tragic circumstances. His career in the WWE in its New Generation and Attitude eras were long overshadowed by the infamous Montreal Screwjob, as well as the successive tragedies that hit him, his family, and friends. The WWE has since made peace with Bret, and he is actually under a Legends contract, so if he is well enough, this could very well happen.
· New Age Outlaws
The Road Dogg Jesse James and Badd Ass Billy Gunn were one of the most popular tag teams during the Attitude era, and possibly of all WWE history. Both found themselves working in the WWE after a long string of independent wrestling in 2012, and were wrestling again until WrestleMania XXX. They may bot be active wrestlers now, but they are certainly healthy enough to get scanned for the new game.
· Edge
Adam Copeland made his name as a wrestler in the Attitude era and beyond. Not only has he held most of the WWE championships at one point, he is also the only wrestler to have won the King of the Ring, Money in the Bank, and the Royal Rumble. Edge was forced to retired in 2011 due to injuries. Edge has sporadically made appearances for WWE since his contract expired in April 2012. There’s certainly nothing stopping him from joining the game as a Legend today.
WWE 2K15 is coming October 28 to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
