After a short lull, the EA Sports team has decided to introduce a few new friendly faces to the roster of EA Sports UFC. The upcoming MMA product coming out of EA might not be available until June at the earliest, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the character models of five new fighters from varying weight classes.
Let’s look at the welterweights first. Above, you’ll see Johny Hendricks and Carlos Condit – two of the pound-for-pound best fighters in the UFC. Both 170-pound warriors have almost endless gas tanks, as well as the striking power to end a fight at a moment’s notice. Hendricks recently fought long-time champion Georges St-Pierre to the closest decision of the Canadian’s career, and will fight this weekend for the vacant welterweight strap.
Francis Carmont and Lyoto Machida, two top-10 middleweights who’ve had a strong couple of years, are up next. Carmont is a teammate of St-Pierre, as well as a massive man for his 185-pound division. The wrestler prefers to grind out his victories over engaging in all-out brawls, but his particular style of fighting has helped him win all but one fight inside the Octagon. Machida, on the other hand, has the striking ability to end anyone’s night early. The former light heavyweight champion has slimmed down for his most recent fights, and will take on new middleweight champion Chris Weidman for the belt this summer.
Lastly, we have Junior “Cigano” Dos Santos – former heavyweight champion and likely the nicest brute you’ll ever meet. The boxing expert has knocked out just about every 265-pound man the UFC has put in front of him, but he still manages to stay humble and smile throughout all the violence. He’s struggled to grab the belt back from the current champ, but the Brazilin bomber is expected to make another run at gold in the coming months.
EA Sports UFC will launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in late spring.
