Sony has announced both a Collector's Edition and preorder bonuses for the upcoming prequel God of War: Ascension. For $80 dollars you can get a statue of Kratos, the game's official soundtrack, multiplayer double XP unlocked and a pass for upcoming downloadable content. Oh and you get a nice little PlayStation 3 dynamic theme and PSN avatar pack along with it. With the season pass in there, it looks like it's a really nice deal.
And if you preorder either version of the game you will receive the Mythological Heroes Multiplayer Pack. This includes four characters for the game's multiplayer component, those being Perseus, Achilles, Odysseus and Orion. It doesn't look like there are retailer specific bonuses at this time, which is generally a good thing.
God of War: Ascension will focus on Kratos' origin story and will feature a series-first multiplayer. Ascension will come out for PlayStation 3 on March 12, 2013. You can get a demo for the game when you buy Total Recall: Director's Cut on Blu-ray.
