Sony is doing quite well for themselves in the UK as the PlayStation 3 has sold more than 5 million consoles, reports MCV.
The latest push came with the 500GB version hitting retail on September 28, which caused a massive 138 percent jump in sales.
“It is fantastic that we passed the 5m mark,” said UK MD Fergal Gara. “But most importantly to me is not the milestone itself, but the fact that there is momentum behind it. And with the new chassis, and the way the market is panning out this year, PlayStation definitely has the momentum.”
The sales figures will probably continue to look good the next few months as the 12GB PS3 is released tomorrow, October 12.
