DICE will once again roll out a series of tweaks for Battlefield 3's latest expansion, Armored Kill. In a post on his personal blog, DICE developer Gustav Halling states, "I have been very busy collecting feedback about the gunship in Rush the last 2 weeks and we have already made improvements yesterday, changing its spawntime from 60 to 90 seconds."
He states that he's still not finished and late next week (September 19-20th), they will, once more, push out a new server update.
Here's what Halling has listed so far:
Gunship initial spawntime tweaked from 15 to 60 seconds
– This will fix the issue where gunship gunners can target defenders before the round starts
Gunship spawntime tweaked from 90 seconds to 120 seconds.
– This will give defenders more time to “breath” before the gunship is respawned again.
Gunship “moving forward” delay between bases tweaked from 15 to 30 seconds
– This will fix the issue where the attackers can parachute drop to the next base before the defenders can reach it.
Halling adds that this is the second step in balancing Rush mode in Armored Kill, which proves that the community are just much better at "owning up on our servers than our in-house testing is."
Lastly, Halling reveals that there is no shame in admitting that the AC130 Gunship is overpowered after launch, but it's not due to them not testing it beforehand.
While not specified, the server update will most likely be for all platforms and will once again not affect online play.
We'll keep you posted once DICE has officially released the update on their end.
Anyone who has problems with the AC130? Is it really that hard to take down?
