Minecraft is a popular game on the PC and Mac, and its popularity is steadily growing across the Xbox 360 console platform, where the game has been ported to by 4J Studios.
The studio took to Twitter today to announce their plans to update the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft to version 1.8.2, with a series of gameplay videos to head up the version’s release.
The videos will be posted on 4J Studios’ YouTube channel before the end of the week. “We’ll be putting some Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition 1.8.2 videos up on our channel later this week,” they said on their Twitter account.
The new version of Minecraft on the Xbox 360 will be headlined by the addition of Creative Mode, a feature which has been available to PC/Mac gamers for awhile now. For those not in the know, Creative Mode differs from the game's default Survival Mode, and allows players to build their world freely with unlimited resources, and without fear of dying.
Additionally, it will also see the inclusion of Ender Pearls, Superflat worlds, and twelve new chests for the game’s Tutorial World, among other things.
The update itself is expected to be out before the end of the month, as Mojang’s Daniel Kaplan warned in a tweet that the update is not yet ready.
