Closure Is Coming to Steam, Here’s The Release Date and Trailer

August 29, 2012 by Patricia Hernandez

Cause we all gotta know when we’re pushing blocks and collecting keys in black and white next.

Say it isn't so, here's another puzzle platformer. Hey, that's another thing we don't have enough of, on top of bundles. But! This puzzle-platformer, unlike most one looks genuinely interesting. Most puzzle platformers reek of "safe cash in that taps into gamer nostalgia."

Closure is a title with a fantastic, gloomy art-style. The decision to keep it black and white reminds me a little of Limbo, but the details are more ornate here and, frankly, prettier than they were in Limbo. This feels like a living, breathing world. But like Limbo, this isn't a world I'd actually want to live in.

The music, which is eerie and minimalistic, also helps with that feeling. One of the more atmospheric titles I've seen recently, and that's saying something.

And now we finally have a release date for Closure, too! It's set to release on September 7th, the same day Klei Entertainment releases Mark of the Ninja. The busy fall is starting to get into full swing and all.

Purchasing the title–which can be played on either PC or Mac–will cost you 10 bucks. Apparently it's already out for PSN, somehow slipping some people's radars entirely (or, well, mine at least.)

I'm not a big fan of puzzle games, but I'm likely to make an exception to this. The reviews seem positive, and I'm a sucker for a good art-direction. No page on the Steam store just yet, but we can probably assume there will be a small discount for purchasing the title early. Until then, make sure to watch the trailer above. Hopefully that's enough to keep you satiated for now.
