VR developer Oculus has hired Dillon Seo, Scaleform’s former Business Director. The move makes Seo the VR company’s Director of Operations in South Korea, demonstrating the start-up’s desire to reach out to the Korean game development community.
So far, the Oculus Rift Kickstarter has gained more than $1.8 million—well over its $250,000 threshold—with eight days remaining in the campaign. The Rift has also received glowing endorsements from the likes of John Carmack, Gabe Newell, Notch Persson (who personally donated $10,000 to the project) and Cliff Bleszinski.
Seo’s new position at Oculus, headed by CEO Brendan Iribe, will involve organizing the company’s office in South Korea and working with local developers who are interested in working with the VR tech.
"Opening an office here in Seoul means that South Korean game studios will always have fully localized technical support and a close partner in the development of amazing new virtual reality video games using Oculus technology,” Seo says.
