Minecraft 360 has always been a little behind the PC version and it seems it will stay that way for a little while longer. 4J Studios' Stuart Ross released information on Twitter today concerning the anticipated update to the XBLA version of the blocky open world title.
The official 4J Studios Twitter account stated: “We’re working on the 1.8.2 update, and deciding what to bring forward from 1.9 and beyond.” The studio went on to confirm that there are many weeks of work between now and the launch of the update.
Ross conversed with Twitter users, answering questions left and right in under 140 characters, giving us a better idea of what to expect in the update. Your world will not be deleted when the update is live, however you will have to restart a new world to get all of the new structures. Creative mode is still being ironed out, but Ross made it sound like they are working to make the best experience for console gamers.
“We haven’t decided what the Creative menu will be like, but it probably won’t be like the 1.8 one with the large scrolling menu,” said Ross. “It will be something that isn’t too cumbersome to use with a controller.”
“There may be some new features in the next update…but you might not notice There will probably be more unique things in the future, yes,” Ross said, teasing new features that haven't appeared in the PC version.
Cryptic as always. It keeps players on their toes without promising anything spectacular. Much like modern satire, it's the safest route that gets the most exposure. Here's to hoping there's some truth in that statement.
