Bioware has just made its Leviathan DLC official by announcing it at EA's Summer Showcase. News about the Leviathan DLC first surfaced when players discovered hidden files within the Extended Cut DLC which the company put out a couple of months back.
The DLC expands the single-player campaign and takes place aboard an asteroid inhabited by a renegade Reaper, whom Shepard and his crew can recruit to help in the battle for Earth.
"Mass Effect 3: Leviathan is the first story-driven, single player DLC to be made available since Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut," reads the game's official description.
"Leviathan expands upon the events of Mass Effect 3 with gripping and emotional storytelling, compelling new characters, powerful weapons and unique upgrades. Players will be able to discover more about the origins of the reapers as they race across the galaxy to unravel the mystery that surrounds the fabled Leviathan."
The release date for Leviathan is still "TBD" but it should be released before the end of the year for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
