Rumor: PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Characters and Levels Leaked

July 30, 2012 by Alex Co

Characters and stages from Sony’s All-Stars Battle Royale have been leaked in a very big way.

While Sony has yet to release the complete characters and stage list for its upcoming mascot brawler — PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, this leak might have outed almost every stage or character in the game.

Spotted in Reddit (via NeoGAF), the leak not only outs the characters and levels, but the game's modes and "minions," too. We'll go over each part of the leak below.

Character List (not sure if this is 100% complete)

  • Colonel Radec (Killzone)
  • Dante (DMC)
  • Evil Cole (Infamous)
  • Fat Princess (Fat Princess)
  • Good Cole (Infamous)
  • Heihachi (Tekken)
  • Jak & Daxter (Jak & Daxter)
  • Kratos (God of War)
  • Nariko (Heavenly Sword)
  • Nathan Drake (Uncharted)
  • Parappa the Rapper (Parappa the Rapper)
  • Raiden (Metal Gear Solid)
  • Ratchet (& Clank?) (Ratchet & Clank)
  • Sackboy (LittleBigPlanet)
  • Sir Daniel Fortesque (MediEvil)
  • Sly Cooper (Sly Cooper)
  • Spike (Ape Escape)
  • Sweet Tooth (Twisted Metal)
  • Toro (Sony Icon)

All the characters listed might not mean they're playable straight away as the actual data files indicate that some of them need to be unlocked. Also, you might be wondering where BioShock's Big Daddy is. He's still in the game but wasn't in the file itself for some odd reason.

Here's the characters in image form, it's worth noting that NeoGAF users are stating that the images can be found elsewhere, so this could be a forgery, but the actual characters shown seem to be the real deal.

That looks to be a very robust list of first and third-party characters, no? Next up, we have the purported list of stages that these fighters can fight on. There's 14 stages listed, but just like the characters, we're unsure at this time if this is the complete list of stages (courtesy of GameFAQs who unearthed the names from the on-going PS All-Stars closed beta).

Stages

  • Alden’s Tower (Infamous)
  • Black Rock Stadium (Twisted Metal)
  • Columbia (BioShock Infinite)
  • Dojo (Parappa the Rapper)
  • Dreamscape (LittleBigPlanet)
  • Franzea (LocoRoco)
  • Hades (God of War)
  • Invasion (Killzone)
  • Metropolis (Ratchet & Clank)
  • Paris (Sly Cooper)
  • Sandover (Jak & Daxter)
  • San Francisco (Resistance)
  • Stowaways (Uncharted)
  • Time Station (Ape Escape)

There's a fifth stage option with the name "random," which indicates that picking it will bring up a random stage. Speaking of stage, here's the BioShock Infinite one.

While that's two of the most important details in the game, we're not done yet. Listed below (courtesy of The Examiner) are the items that players can use while battling each other. There's also "minions" which are most likely background characters that might or might not be playable (one good example is Tekken's Kuma being listed and he participates in one of Heihachi's specials).

Minions

  • Athena (God of War)
  • Captain Qwark (Ratchet & Clank)
  • Worker (Fat Princess)
  • Dollface (Twisted Metal)
  • Helghast Soldier (Killzone)
  • Kai (Heavenly Sword)
  • Kat (DmC Devil May Cry)
  • Keira (Jak & Daxter)
  • Kiya (MediEvil)
  • Kuma (Tekken)
  • Little Sister (BioShock)
  • Monkey (Ape Escape)
  • Murray (Sly Cooper)
  • Nix (inFamous 2)
  • Pierre (Doko Demo Issho)
  • PJ Berri (Parappa the Rapper)
  • Sackbot (LittleBigPlanet 2)
  • Sam (Metal Gear Rising)
  • Sully (Uncharted)
  • Zeke (inFamous 2

Items

  • Atomizer (Resistance 3)
  • Baumusu Axe (The Mark of Kri)
  • Boots of Hermes (God of War III)
  • Freeze Missile (Twisted Metal)
  • Golf Club (Hot Shots Golf)
  • Gravity Shield (Wipeout)
  • Hedgehog Grenade (Resistance)
  • Dohvat Laser Designator (Killzone 3)
  • Leech Beem (Wipeout)

  • RPG (Uncharted)
  • Scythe (Fat Princess)
  • Spear (God of War)
  • Sonic Rift (ModNation Racers)
  • Sackbot (Little Big Planet)

Lastly, here's the game modes and other features that are uncovered so far. Now, same with the files mentioned above, we're not sure if this the complete or not.

Obviously, keep this filed under the rumor section for now as Sony has yet to verify any of the info leaked, but chances are, this is the real deal. It wouldn't surprise me if some or most of the details here are set to be revealed at Sony's Gamescom presser.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is set for release on October 23 exclusively for the PS3.

Are you liking the character list so far? What do you think that Raiden and Dante seems to be in the fold eventhough there games are set for release next year?
