The latest firm ware for Sony’s PlayStation 4 is out, bringing the console up to version 4.05. The new firmware offers, like every previous update, improvements to “the quality of system performance.”
The update follows in the wake of previous minor releases, all of which came out after the system’s major 4.00 update was released earlier this month. The update overhauled the entire system UI, and added a number of new features including HDR support for TVs that support it, the ability to create folders for your games, and a host of other improvements.
Both PS4 and PS4 Slim carry the same version number.
If you’ve had your system running today, you’ll be prompted to download the update, so you’ll want to do that, especially if you play online games. Otherwise, you won’t be able to log on and that wouldn’t be very good, would it?
