Square Enix has put out a new video of Crystal Dynamics’ upcoming reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise to announce a collaboration with videogame journalist Geoff Keighley.
Keighley will be producing a “Final Hours” documented series for a behind-the-scenes look at the development on the new Tomb Raider, and the whole thing will be hosted by Zachary Levi.
Crystal Dynamics describes the series as an “unprecedented, fly-on-the-wall perspective of the twists and turns of game development”, highlighting the developers responsible for rebooting Tomb Raider and what they went through.
The first episode begins with an interview with Lara Croft’s new voice actor, Camilla Luddington, who talks about working with the company and being the voice of Lara.
It’s unknown whether the recent controversy regarding the attempted rape of the game’s protagonist, Lara Croft, will be covered in the series—but I wouldn’t count on it.
Interestingly enough, the entire episode focuses on the live motion capture scene of Lara's attempted rape, with Camilla Luddington talking about how her first kill affected Lara as a character.
To clarify, Crystal Dynamics has since claimed that there was no attempted rape in the scene depicted above despite comments made by Karl Stewart to Kotaku's Jason Schreier in an interview.
