In this NSFW video (for language and a teensy bit of nudity), the deranged pirate Vaas decries, and waxes philosophical over, the dubstep track that colours the video's montage.
Of course, the poor, imprisoned sap (let's just guess it's protagonist Jason Brody), has no choice but to hear Vaas out, being that he is, naturally, tied in place.
But listen to Vaas as he sits on his wooden crate in the middle of the rainforest. For the first 20 seconds or so of this video, weren't you just about willing to take this for granted as another "high-octane" videogame trailer?
Doesn't the redundancy of the wub-wub seem analogous to some of the game marketing we've become used to? Is Ubisoft then suggesting that we should be anticipating something different from the upcoming open-world FPS?
I don't know about you but I certainly hope so, and I hope for a lot more of Vaas's colour commentary. Somebody give that guy a podcast. And maybe an extra pair of pants (you'll see why.)
