If you spend a lot of time in internet forums, you'd be forgiven for believing that Sony have screwed up with the Vita. They've only sold two consoles and one of them has been traded in towards a 3DS. The official word has always been a little more optimistic, and it seems that things have definitely started to pick up, in Japan at least.
Over the last week, the Vita has sold 22,638 units, according to Enterbrain. That's around 3 times less than the 3DS (which sold a mammoth 65,267) units, but almost as much as the PS3 and Wii together (16,399 and 6880 respectively). The Xbox 360 sold only 861 units, hardly scraping ahead of the DSi (657) and the PSP (490).
It's also worth mentioning that Vita sales went up massively since last week, in which 13,659 units were sold.
