Phantasy Star Online 2 is set for a July 4 release in Japan for both the PC. The PS Vita version is slated for release in 2013. As the game supports cross-platform gameplay, players on both platforms will be able to interact with each other once both versions are available.
As with other cooperative online games and MMOs, Phantasy Star Online 2 allows players to create their own characters, join a group of players to team up in battle against hordes of monsters in an open world environment, level up, and collect all sorts of gear and equipment.
There's no word on when the game will see release in the United States and Europe, but we have our fingers crossed that Sega will make an announcement before the end of the year.
