Revelation Online, the fantasy action-MMORPG from China is getting a Western release at long last. Originally developed by Netease, the game is being published by publisher My.com as the studio’s answer to Korean MMOs like Blade & Soul. If you’re a fan of those types of games, you’ll want to check this out.
The game features six character classes, none of which are locked by their genders (which tends to be a thing in Asian MMOs). Players can choose to play as the Swordmage, Occultist, Gunslinger, Blademaster, SpiritShaper, and Vanguard. Some of these classes have fairly self-explanatory names.
Revelation Online offers co-op adventuring, a variety of PVP modes, and a variety of character creation options beyond selecting your class. Players can go on solo adventures as well as group quests through a large variety of dungeons or engage in massive-scale conflicts against players in guild wars. To that end, players can capture enemy strongholds and defend them for prestige.
The game doesn’t play like your typical MMO, and offers three control styles, including the ability to lock on enemy targets, clicking to move to a location, and free-aiming.
Revelation Online is currently in closed beta and its publisher has announced options for founder packs, offering early access to the game. These include the Explorer Pack for $17.99, the Founder Pack for $59.99, and the Deluxe Pack for $89.99, each with their own levels of premium access for faster experience gain and other benefits. Other goodies include special mounts, wings, and outfits.
The packs are available for gamers in North America and Europe.
