The Escapists is a top-down RPG game from the development team at Mouldy Toof Studios and the publishers at Team17. The objective was you and your friends tried to escape a prison complex as painless as possible, all while avoiding the guards and other defenses that stood in your way. The Escapists was successful enough that the studio behind it has decided to make The Escapists 2, as seen by this announcement trailer.
“I’m thrilled to be working with my friends at Team17 again to bring this new chapter of The Escapists to life,” said founder of Mouldy Toof Studios, Chris Davis. “The Escapists 2 takes everything the fans loved from the first game and adds in so many new additions and features on top. I can’t wait to see what the fans think!”
When it comes to new additions to the series, The Escapists 2 is adding more multiplayer functionality. Splitscreen, Drop-in/Drop-out, and online player are all on the table in the game’s versus and co-op modes. This will come in handy as you and your friends try out new ways to escape the Big House. You want to escape a multi-level prison? Use some bedsheets and make a climbing rope out your window. What stays the same in this sequel is the visual style from the first game, with some tune-ups and optimizations here and there. More crafting items means more combat possibilities, as you can lock-on to your targets and engage in light and heavy attacks. The prison will seem more interesting and unique due to the increased character customization potential.
The Escapists 2 is set to arrive in 2017 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. To learn more about the game, check out the website, Twitter, and Facebook for it.
