A new firmware update is available for PS3, so be sure to turn on your console 5-10 minutes before you plan to play if you want to get straight into a game. While it doesn't add anything massive to the console's roster of features, it does add a few smaller features that will no doubt make using other things on the console that much nicer.
The first feature, and the one that Sony seemed to spend more time flaunting than any other, is the ability to change the volume of your own voice over the microphone. The feature to do so was added in 4.10 and since people have complained about the volume of their own voice being too loud, so there are now five volume settings to choose from, as well as the ability to mute it completely.
On top of that, you can now copy multiple save files at the same time and can set the amount of time until the console automatically turns off based upon whether you're watching video, listening to music or playing a game. There are always hidden features, so expect more from this update than currently announced.
