Over 13 million gamers played Battlefield 1’s open beta. The beta, which recently concluded, was available across the PC, Xbox One and PS4 platforms.
EA and developer DICE revealed that the game saw 13.2 million players in total who tried it out. Of those numbers, 30% chose to play the Assault class, followed by 28% Scout players.
Armored units, including the Tank Hunter, accrued the most kills of all. As someone who’s spent close to two dozen hours in the beta, I’d wager the statistic might prompt the developer to tone down their effectiveness in battle, or at least weaken their armor to give footsoldiers a fighting chance against them.
Gamers scored over 60 million kills while on horseback, and the moving train made short work of 13 million.
The beta ran from August 31 to September 8, allowing the developers to collect the data above and optimize their servers before the game’s official launch. Battlefield 1 will come out on October 13 for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
