I'm guessing I'm not the only one disappointed by the lack of third-party support shown for the Wii U at this year's E3. While that, in itself, should be worrying, it's not as worrying as seeing EA — one of the world's biggest publishers — only have one game on Nintendo's sizzle reel.
That game I'm referring to is Mass Effect 3. Yep, it's a port. Nintendo released Mass Effect 3's Wii U Trailer and it's very underwhelming (nothing new at all is shown).
Now that we have all that out of the way, EA has answered concerns that they're neglecting Nintendo's upcoming console.
Speaking to CVG, EA's Games Label president Frank Gibeau admits that they're "holding fire" on a couple of Wii U announcements…that and they're going to have a bigger line-up for the Wii U compared to the Wii.
It is the first next-generation platform coming out so we're really supporting it.
Just looking at E3 and where we're at, we wanted to hold our fire a little bit on a couple of the other games that we're working on. We'll have more announcements this summer on the rest of the Wii U line-up.
