Blizzard’s latest first-person shooter, Overwatch, has a brand new Easter Egg. The development team Blizzard Entertainment, is well known for delivering a wide range of Easter Eggs within their video game titles and their latest title, Overwatch, keeps up with that tradition.
The latest Easter Egg, according to Eurogamer, was discovered within the upcoming map, Eichenwalde. Apparently, if gamers opt to take a look within the opposite room of the castle entrance, they would stumble upon a bonfire that looks similar to the bonfires served within Dark Souls.
Bandai Namco’s Dark Souls franchise has players using bonfires as a save point within the video game and this Easter Egg is a neat little nod to fans of the franchise. There’s bound to be plenty of other Easter Eggs within the upcoming Eichenwalde map as well.
In the past, Blizzard has teased their upcoming characters within maps and there’s plenty of gamers speculating online that there are clues of upcoming Sombra character within the Eichenwalde map, but of course, this is purely speculative at the moment.
Unfortunately, there’s no release date quite yet for the Overwatch map, but with gamers testing it out now, we shouldn’t be waiting too much longer. As for the video game, players can pick up Overwatch right now for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platforms.
