Confirming the earlier report from yesterday, Blizzard unveiled a special update for the Overwatch game. This limited edition event, which coincides with the running of the Olympic games, will have unique skins and items to offer players.
The center event of this Overwatch update is something called Lúcioball. It’s a new map that takes place on a futuristic soccer-like playing field in Rio de Janeiro. It’s a 3 vs. 3 match-up where everyone seems to be Lúcio – his primary attack is now a punch, which allows you to dribble the ball. The secondary ability emits a sound wave that launches the ball great distances. As for Lúcio’s ultimate, Sound Barrier pulls the ball toward him.
Every character benefits from this seasonal event. Loot Boxes now have items fit for the occasion, and you should be on the lookout for new sprays, emotes, icons, skins, and highlight intros for everybody. Every Loot Box will have one of these Summer Games collection items no matter what. But once August 22nd arrives, the event is over. Which means these items will no longer be in circulation.
Overwatch is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Check their website, Twitter, and Facebook for updates.
