Ninendo's Germany division has announced they won't be attending this years GamesCom convention, reports VG247 (via Joystiq). The company seems to have their own promotional schemes in the works, as indicated by the statement they released:
"Whilst Gamescom is a fantastic show, we have taken the decision not to attend this year's event. Instead we are planning a number of sampling events later this year inline with the European Marketing-, PR- and Event-activities in which our fans will have the opportunity to play upcoming games. Further details will be announced."
As GamesCom is enjoyed by so many each year, Nintendo's pull-out is bad news, but it's good to hear they will be getting their slate of titles for this year into your hands in some other way.
GamesCom is of course the next big industry event after E3, where Nintedno is expected to re-unveil the Wii U with final details like system specifications, price, and launch titles in toe.
