Speaking with GameSpot (via VG247), Epic Games' Mike Capps has revealed that some initial work was done, a sequel to Bulletstorm, one of 2011's more inventive shooters, is on hold.
It would seem sales are to blame with Capps stating they "were good, but not great" with the games publisher EA expecting more from the title.
Capps says the PC version sold the worst and while he admits the quality of that version was less than satisfying, he believes privacy played a big part as well. He says Epic would like to return to the property one day, but in the mean time, People Can Fly has a new project that Capps says they'll reveal "pretty soon".
I only played the demo for Bulletstorm, but I enjoyed it and I always thought it looked good in previews and promotional media. It's unfortunate it didn't really take at retail because it really did have some interesting ideas and I found it's abrasiveness to be oddly charming (Steve Blum and Jennifer Hale are among it's voice cast).
Hope springs eternal and good luck to PCF in their new endeavor.
