The upcoming survival open-world MMO, Conan Exiles, by development team Funcom, has its first gameplay trailer released online. This small snippet of footage shows the gritty and harsh world players will endure, though you’ll want to take note that this is very much a pre-alpha build of the game.
Within Conan Exiles, players are a barbarian that has been cast out into the wasteland. It’s up to you in order to survive, build, and dominate, although the harsh environment and other threats that lurk about will make it a tough journey.
As mentioned earlier, the first gameplay trailer was shown off though it did not state when the game will be officially launching. Instead, we know that the Early Access for the game will be arriving sometime this summer with a full launch of PC and consoles has yet to be determined.
Additionally, Funcom also stated that the team has been working closely with Nvidia in order to bring out cutting-edge graphics for Conan Exiles.
“Funcom and NVIDIA have been working together for years creating cutting-edge graphics experiences. Eight years ago we worked on ‘Age of Conan’ and delivered some of the most advanced graphics ever seen in the massively multiplayer online games, and now we are working with their engineers to achieve the same for the open-world survival genre.”
There’s plenty of questions left on gamers minds about Conan Exiles and a few of them were answered through a Reddit AMA. For instance, the development team describes Conan Exiles as a mix between Ark and Skyrim.
“My creative vision for the game falls somewhere between Ark and Skyrim – a world that preexisted and filled with NPC factions – who you beat to death and then build your own kingdom on their ashes. There are supernatural creatures, you shall see.”
