Ubisoft has announced that their post-apocalyptic survival action game I Am Alive will finally be coming to the PlayStation Network on April 4.
I Am Alive follows the story of an unnamed everyman searching for his wife and child in the aftermath of a global disaster known only as the Event. Drawing heavy inspiration from Cormac McCarthy's The Road, the game presents a post-apocalyptic world where societal collapse has forced the remnants of humanity to turn on each other and do whatever it takes to survive.
With gameplay centered around climbing, scavenging, and bluffing your way through encounters, the game offers a much grittier, more realistic look at what would happen after everything goes pear-shaped.
An Xbox Live Arcade version of the I Am Alive was released earlier this month. So far, it's been reasonably well met by critics, with a 70 out of 100 on Metacritic. Reviewers praised for the game's inventive mechanics and uncommonly dark setting, while noting that poor execution and repetitive gameplay held it back from unqualified success.
