Santa Monica Studio’s God of War Laufey is starting pre-orders tomorrow, September 29, 2026.
Subsequently, they revealed the game’s standard edition and Digital Deluxe Edition. The standard edition comes in both disc and digital form, but there’s no physical deluxe or collector’s edition.
The digital deluxe edition contains the following:
- Dark Alchemy Armor Set
- Dark Alchemy Blade
- Dark Alchemy Bow Scales
- Dark Alchemy Catalyst
- In-Game Resource Pack
- Digital Mini Artbook
- Official God of War Laufey Digital Soundtrack
If you pre-order the game in any edition, you also get these:
- Last Wish Armor Set
- Phranque Golden Leaves Appearance (cosmetic)
- In-game resource pack
The lack of any special editions on physical with the game’s February 16, 2027 release highlights how this could be one of the last games Sony will release on disc. While we have been covering rumors that hint at Sony reconsidering their decision, there’s no guarantee that that will happen, or even that these rumors are true.
This may be a disappointment for God of War fans, but we’ll see if Sony and Santa Monica studio can make up for it in the future.
