XBOX is apparently satisfied with GTA 6’s performance on their platform.

XBOX Chief Strategic Officer Matthew Ball replied to Tom Warren of The Verge on social media:
Tom, we are very happy with GTA VI pre-orders. The title is breaking records for XBOX, we expect even more records will be broken throughout the fall, and our internal analysis shows our share of pre-orders to be matching our share of the console market.
Tom just shared a The Verge report with rumors about the XBOX reset announced this week.
Matthew’s response is interesting for several reasons. For one, before Matthew worked for XBOX, he said that he hoped GTA 6 would retail for $ 100.
Since taking his current position, Matthew has been using his Twitter account to address and debunk rumors about XBOX. This reflects a change in attitude from Phil Spencer’s to Asha Sharma’s regime.
Of course, we understand that Matthew is speaking the company line. But fans who accuse Matthew of lying or speaking spin should remember that this is the official company response to an unverified rumor. That holds more weight than the rumor.
