The PSSR upgrade is finally coming out to everybody.
They made this announcement in PlayStation Blog:
Today’s PS5 system software update introduces broad support for the upgraded version of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), delivering enhanced image stability, improved clarity in fine details, and more consistent performance across supported titles.
Upgraded PSSR initially rolled out with Resident Evil Requiem, but console owners got them at random.
They’ve also enumerated what games are getting support for the PSSR upgrade:
- Silent Hill 2 Remake
- Silent Hill f
- Dragon Age: The Veilguard
- Alan Wake 2
- Control
- Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II
- Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
- Nioh 3
- Rise of Ronin
- Monster Hunter Wilds
- Dragon’s Dogma 2
Other games getting upgraded PSSR support in the future include Crimson Desert, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and Cyberpunk 2077.
Of course, Sony also warns that ‘results may vary by title.’ As is usually the case for these enhancements, you also get the choice to turn it off.
We’re sure that games will look great with this upgrade, but don’t be surprised if new issues also emerge in the coming days and weeks. Regardless of the company and platform, this is the nature of these upgrades.
