The fans have finally gotten their chance to try out Red Dead Redemption on mobile, and a lot of them are impressed. But should they be?

Red Dead Redemption On Mobile
Red Dead Redemption is now available to play on iOS and Android, and you have multiple options to get access to it.
First things first, if you’re already a GTA+ subscriber, you can already redeem this game as part of that subscription.
If you have an active Netflix subscription, this game is also bundled as part of that subscription.
Lastly, you can buy it directly on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
What Are The Fans Saying?
Videotechuk shared these framerates for Apple devices:
Red Dead Redemption iPhone and iPad frame-rates:
iPad Pro M5: 60FPS
iPad Pro M4: 60FPS
iPhone Air: 40FPS
iPhone 17 Pro: 40FPS
iPhone 17 (base): 40FPS
iPhone 16 Pro: 40FPS
iPhone 15 Pro: 40FPS
Any iPhone and iPad below will run at HD mode without a performance mode.

While we know some iPhones can run the game faster, 40 FPS may be a practical accommodation. On a screen that small, that framerate may be harder to perceive.
We’re certainly curious how the game looks in the Apple Vision Pro, but so far no one who has the mixed reality headset has shared impressions.
Videotechuk also shared a visual comparison of the game running on iPhone 15 Pro Max, which maxes out at 5w, and the PlayStation 3, which could run for as much as 200w.
As you can imagine, the game looks much better on the iPhone. But someone chimes in with their opinion on this.
INIYSA said this:
This is both impressive and not at the same time.
The iPhone 15 Pro’s GPU is about 10 times faster than the PS3 in FP32.
The PS3 only has 512MB of memory, but the iPhone has 8GB, which is 16 times more.
Yet, the graphics difference between the two seems very small. This means that, theoretically, RDR is a much lower-spec game than modern mobile games, and the iPhone should use much less than 5W of power.
5W seems to be the OP’s estimated power consumption, but I’m curious about the actual power consumption. But it would be at least 3W, even at its lowest
This phone can run this game at only 2 to 3 watts, but obviously their other observations still hold.
Ultimately, these are great options if you use your phone or tablet more than a console. It must be said that the Switch 2 definitely clears all these devices, with a 1440p image upscaled to 4K, and running at a smooth, consistent 60 FPS. Apple’s silicon hasn’t caught up to Nvidia’s Tegra just yet.
