Sonic Team ‘Wants to Try Something New’ for Next 3D Sonic

March 14, 2012 by Joe Ryan

Does that mean try something good this time?

Sonic may not have had the best of luck with his 3D games, but he Sonic Team is currently discussing the next try. Takashi Iizuka, head of the studio, wants to 'evolve' the 3D games in the same way that Sonic 4 evolved the 2D ones.

"I think we achieved a 2D platform for the basic Sonic games with this Sonic 4 series. For 3D, we'd like to, as well as try to evolve all the old titles, we want to try something new in the 3D Sonic games as well."

While there are no official details about a new 3D Sonic game as of yet, he did go on to say: "We would like to try and challenge to create a new 3D Sonic game, and if we try and make a new 3D Sonic game, it will be different to Sonic Generations."

Have you played the 3D Sonic game in the past? What did you think, and how could they be better? Let us know in the comments!
