Over the past few days this game has gone from complete obscurity to a hot button subject of the gaming industry. Konami has finally decided to give us a few morsels of information regarding their first Vita title.
The game will use “Transfarring”, a form of cloud technology that Hideo Kojima has been wanting to implement for some time. This feature will apply for MGS2 and MGS3 on both systems – the PS3 and Vita. Supposedly, you’ll be able to play on either platform and continue right where you left off, whether you played onthe Vita or PS3 last is irrelevant.
This new technology is known as Title User Storage, and is – essentially – just a fancy name for Cloud storage under a new brand.
Konami has also gone on to talk about the Vita version of the collection, and how the handhelds unique features will be used in conjunction with gameplay. The player will be able to use the system’s touch panel to zoom in on “event scenes”, swap weapons, and view the world through characters’ binoculars.
In an update, Konami also confirmed that the game will release on the Playstation Vita over the summer in the West.
Furthermore, the Vita version holds HD re-masters of Metal Gear Solid 2/3, with trophies and controls designed to use the portable’s touch panels.
