EA Has Now Shipped 3.5 Million Copies of Mass Effect 3

March 10, 2012 by Jacob Saylor

The popular series creates its very own “Mass Effect” for a third time.

EA has done it again: the critically-acclaimed Mass Effect franchise has sold astronomically well, with over 900,000 day-one buyers. However, a few days after release, even more news has hit the airwaves: EA has officially shipped 3.5 million copies of the game. This means that EA and the analysts therein are quite assured the game will see sustained sales – as far as the near future goes.

After receiving extremely high praise for the game from media and fan alike, Bioware Co-Founder Dr Ray Muzyka had this to say:

"We have been truly humbled by the amazing response from fans and critics for Mass Effect 3."

Not only did the game sell extremely well, but the day-one DLC, From Ashes, did as well. U.S. company Gamestop had a whopping 40 percent tie-in ratio. This means that 40 percent of the people who bought the full game also bout the DLC.
