The Hitman website has published details about how the community did at their first elusive target. Last week, they announced the Elusive Targets activity being a thing for the game. You aren’t getting much of a warning in the future about when the next one appears.
It took only 6 minutes for the first kill, and it took only 34 minutes for the first Silent Assassination. But only 53% of players were successful in completing this task, while only about 10% of players achieved a Silent Assassination.

“There will be more Elusive Targets coming, they are just as integral to our live content as Escalations have been in recent weeks. Expect a more even balance between the two modes going forward.” the update post said.
The next Escalation Contract is already live as well. The Scorpio Directive includes two targets that need to be eliminated as the result of a five stage plan. “Edmondo Giordano” and “Jack Please” must go. This Escalation Contract will add laser tripwires to the Sapienza map, and you need to navigate around them or disarm them in order to complete your mission.
